The rolling stock repair company from Simeria was established in 1869, with the commissioning of the railroad Arad - Teius, with the branching Simeria - Petrosani. It is the oldest company of this kind in the country and, over the years, it had a significant importance, Simeria being a major railway junction.

With all the troubles of the times, the process of repairing locomotives and wagons did not stop for even one hour. The work continued in open halls, with partly broken equipment.
